RFP Bootcamp
Frequently Asked Questions
Module 0 covers what is an RFP and what it purpose is.
RFP Bootcamp Business Edition covers what I’ve experienced — as a business owner who supports business owners and their teams — one needs to know to lay a foundation for an organization’s RFP success. In the course we teach topics like:
- What is Procurement?
- An overview of the RFx process.
- How to build an RFx-based proposal ecosystem that is proactive and minimizes chaos
- Laying a strategic foundation for growth via RFx
RFP Bootcamp Proposal Writer’s/Proposal Manager’s Edition digs into the HOW of responding to RFx effectively and efficiently. This track is truly for professionals who would like to make Proposal Writing and Proposal Management a career. Over the past thirty years, I have personally trained professionals into entry level Proposal Writer positions and watched them grow in their careers to leaders in their organizations.
It’s important to schedule time to do the work. You’ve made a financial investment. Now it’s critical to make the time investment.
In Module 0 Intro to RFPs, you’ll learn what an RFP is and what it’s purpose is.
The Business Edition will give business owners and team members assigned to work on proposals the knowledge and confidence to participate in the process. You’ll no longer need to fake it!
The Proposal Writer’s/Proposal Manager’s Edition gives professionals the context, skills and tactics that often aren’t covered in programs and courses that cover theory. The result will be the ability to confidently tackle a lot of different proposal challenges strategically and with grace.
RFP Bootcamp is an online, self-paced program consisting of videos with supporting exercises and quizzes that reinforce what you’ve learned.
We recommend Microsoft 365 for the Proposal Writer’s/Proposal Manager’s Edition. We also discuss tools like Grammarly and PerfectIt. The cost of these software is not included in the cost of the course. To purchase licenses for these products, go to the following websites:
If your organization uses Google Office, our demonstrations in documents and spreadsheets will be performed in Microsoft 365 and some of the capabilities we demo are not available in Google or are called different things. |
| The Proposal Writer’s/Proposal Manager’s Edition includes the Business Edition and was created for individuals wanting to pursue a career as a Proposal Professional. If you’re a business owner or work with proposal teams as a part of your job responsibilities, we recommend you start with the Business Edition. | We believe in the crawl-walk-run approach to proposals. While AI tools are powerful, they don’t provide you with the foundatinal knowledge of how to succeed in RFx-based proposals. How can you be confident in what AI is doing, if you can’t identify the end result you would like it to achieve? We’ll be 100% honest: if you want to start with AI, this isn’t the program for you. |
| Yes, this course can help you by providing foundational knowledge of the RFP process. It is not, however, specifically focused on Federal RFPs. If you only want to focus on Federal RFPs, we recommend you find something else designed to serve that need. In the future, we may provide a Responding to Federal Solicitations course, but the focus of the courses available today do not provide the deeper dive you’re looking for. |
